Access The Benefits of Salvation With Joy

Wednesday August 16, 2023

Romans 14:17 - “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Our anchor scripture reveals that a major part of what the Kingdom of God is, is the joy in the Holy Spirit. As a child of God, maintaining joy in the Lord is important if you will be successful in taking a hold of all that belongs to you in Christ. Salvation is a complete package that includes prosperity, fruitfulness, healing, long life, success and all Jesus died and rose again for.

You will not access the benefits of salvation by sadness, sorrowfulness, murmuring, complaining or sinful anger. There may be circumstances that provoke these emotions, however even in those circumstances, God expects you to maintain your joy in Him. Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" Notice that this is a command to “Rejoice always” and not just “sometimes”.

Sorrow, and the other negative emotions can incapacitate you and make you unable to see or access God's blessing. However, joy can liberate you literally. Paul and Silas were in prison, but they expressed joy through their praying and singing. Consequently, the Bible says there was an earthquake which caused their chains and the prison doors to be opened (Acts 16:25-26). So, rejoice always!

Prayer: Lord I receive grace to be joyful all the time. As I do, I receive testimonies that will cause me to rejoice even more in Jesus' Name. Amen.
