Build Strength

Word Feast: Daily Menu from KCIC

Monday May 29, 202

1 Kings 19:7-8- “And the angel of the LORD came back the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.” So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God.”

For the journey of your destiny and fulfilment, you need strength for success. And not just any type of strength- you need divine strength. This is because what the Lord wants to do in you and through you cannot be accomplished by mere physical ability or your mental prowess alone. God-size visions require God-size abilities! Hence why the scriptures declare; “…Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6.

Elijah in our anchor scripture was weary. He had fled afraid from Jezebel who was determined to kill him. Twice an angel appeared to him asking him to eat the physical food that was supernaturally provided. He ate the first time, slept and was woken up to eat again. This is remarkable as the scriptures say that “he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God.” 1 Kings 19:8.

You see, God knows what you require so that you don’t fail your destiny; hence why He would love to ensure you are prepared for the greatness He has prepared for you. So, yield to His preparation. It is in His preparation that you build up strength for the journey ahead. There are times you might feel the need to pray (aside your usual prayer time), make sure you pray during those times. You might get an instruction in your spirit to do something, make sure you don’t slack as these could be a preparation for something that is to happen.

Ensure you are continually building up strength in the Lord. The Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians church; “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,” Ephesians 3:16. The Spirit is the Strengthener and His presence in you is also to ensure that you are strengthened. So, depend on Him and prioritise your fellowship with Him in the place of continued prayer and the study of the Word and you will realise that you are always strengthened to do His Will and achieve His plans for you.

Prayer: Dear Father, I thank You for You are my strength. I depend on You and I receive grace to always abide in the place of prayer and receiving from You for my strengthening and edification. My strength is continually renewed and I run without becoming weary, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
