Proverbs 15:15 (NLT) - “For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.”
Your interpretation of the circumstances of your own life can be impacted by the kind of atmosphere that you allow within you. For instance, some people wake up, see a cloud and straightaway conclude, “it is going to be a bad day.” Why? You ask. Their reply, “Because of the weather”. How can you allow the weather to begin to decide whether your day will be a bad day?
For the one who is despondent as our anchor scripture states, every day brings trouble. A despondent person is one who is in a low mood. One who feels as though all hope is lost. This is not your lot as a child of God. Every day is the day the Lord has made, so choose to rejoice and be glad daily (Psalm 118:24). Don’t wait for a “good news” to come in before you start rejoicing - make rejoicing your default mode because you are in Christ. That’s the greatest good news. Hallelujah!
When you are full of joy, it will show in how you look, what you say and even how you say what you say. In fact, being joyful will strengthen you to win against opposition. So, like Nehemiah encouraged; “…Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10. Wherever you go, take your atmosphere of joy with you and you will be influencing others with the God’s reign and dominion “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
Prayer: Dear Father, I am full of joy today and always. I speak to myself today in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in my heart unto You my Lord because all things are working together for my good, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
