Ephesians 1:7 - "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace"
In our anchor scripture, Paul speaks of two things we have as a consequence of coming into Christ. The first is redemption purchased by the blood of Jesus and the second is the forgiveness of sins. These two are products of the limitless grace of God and should cause you to celebrate. Notice the words "we have". In other words, redemption and forgiveness are present-day possessions of the believer in Christ.
Friend, you have the forgiveness of sins. The moment you came into Christ, you received this forgiveness as a gift of God’s grace. And in Christ Jesus, you are always forgiven. As long as you're in Christ, you retain this possession. Therefore don’t allow the enemy continue to accuse you of mistakes that you have made and keep you in condemnation. Even before Jesus went to the Cross, He demonstrated His willingness and eargerness to forgive sins in the account of the paralyzed man that was placed before Him through the roof (Luke 5:18-24). The man was brought to Jesus for healing, but Jesus offered him forgiveness first before going ahead to heal him.
1 John 2:12 says; "I write to you.... because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake". It is to His own glory that He has forgiven you. Therefore, take great confidence in the fact that you are forgiven and let this spur you to offer your life to God in worship. Psalms 130:4 AMP, says "But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared and worshiped [with submissive wonder]."
Prayer: Father, I thank you because I have the forgiveness of sins. Help me to live and worship You in the consciousness of this in Jesus Name. Amen.
