1 Corinthians 15:10 - “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”
The Apostle Peter prayed in 2 Peter 1:2 (NLT); “May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.” This implies that growing in the knowledge of God and of the Lord Jesus brings about a corresponding increase in grace released to you. As God's graciousness is revealed in you more and more, your capacity and ability to do great things for His glory increases.
John 1:16 says, "And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace." The question is, are you applying yourself to your purpose and assignment with the grace you have received? Are you sitting on your abilities when you should be moving and doing great things for the Lord? Are you using the grace you have received for the tasks you have been assigned?
Obviously, to begin with, if you do not know the task you have been assigned or if you do not know your purpose, you are either not using the grace upon your life or directing it to something that is not purposeful. Paul, recognizing this, asked an important question at the start of his journey. His question was “Lord, what do You want me to do?” (Acts 9:6).
Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do” (Acts 9:6). There is something you "MUST" do, but you won't know until you ask the Lord. Don’t wallow in the dark about your life and destiny. Keep increasing in grace as you grow in His knowledge and with this increase in grace, apply yourself diligently to your calling.
Prayer: Dear Father, I refuse to waste the grace you have made to rest upon my life. Reveal my purpose to me and enable me to labour excellently through the working of your grace in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
