John 14: 9 - "Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?"
The first sign that you are a visible image of God is that you have become his child indeed. You are a new creature indeed, not just religious. "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (2 Corin. 5:17 NLT). Note the emphasis on 'new', not 'refurbished'. Your spirit is born anew which becomes the driving force for a new mindset, lifestyles, character, perspective, habits, relationships, language, desires and appetites, life goals, attitude etc.
You can no longer live the way you used to. If nothing changed when you became a Christian, the truth is you haven't encountered Jesus nor received Him and the power to become a child of God (read John 1:12). No one meets Him and ever remains the same. Jesus said, "You can tell what they are by what they do. No one picks grapes or figs from thornbushes" (Matt.7:16).
For you to be able to say like Jesus, 'if you have seen me then you have seen the Father'; you must have the same mindset and personality like Him. “Jesus told the people: I tell you for certain the Son cannot do anything on His own. He can do only what He sees the Father doing, and He does exactly what He sees the Father do." (John 5:19). This is the way to be like your Father; do only what you see Him do!
For people to see God when they see you, you must bear the fruit of the Spirit everyday in all your relationships. "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Gal.5:22-23). If you have all these in your life, it will not be difficult to see God in you.
Prayers: Father I thank you for making me your child and giving me your Spirit. With your seed and life in me, I desire to grow and bare fruits that will make people to see you in me. I receive grace to do only what I see you do and produce the fruit of the Spirit in my daily living.
