2 Corinthians 5:7 - “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
One way to know those who are ruled by their feelings is through what they say “For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45. As a Christian, your walk or life is not one that should be ruled by your moods or feelings. We are not to be ruled by our emotions but by the truth of God’s Word. Imagine waking up in the morning with a moody feeling. Instead of allowing moodiness take over you and lead your confession in saying; “I feel horrible”, you are to let God’s truth influence how you respond.
This is what it means to walk by faith. Faith is leaning on God’s Word and accepting as reality what God says. So, to walk or live your life by what you “see” or perceive with your physical senses when it opposes God’s Word will not be pleasing God. Hebrews 11:6 says; “But without faith it is impossible to please Him,….”
So quit talking about your life based on how you feel. Don’t let negative feelings drive your confessions. Respond to God’s Word in faith and speak the same thing in agreement with Him just like Hebrews 13:5-6 illustrates - “…For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Aligning with God’s Word when your feelings are in opposition brings glory to God.
Prayer: Dear Father, I refuse to be dominated by my feelings. I am your child, filled with and led by the Spirit. Therefore, I live in alignment with Your Word by the help and power of Your Spirit in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
