2 Corinthians 5:7 - “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
The word translated “sight” in our anchor scripture also means “outward show”, “appearance”, and “visible form”, etc. In short, it points to what the senses can perceive; including the feelings and emotions. Whilst we can relate with physical senses to things and circumstances, never forget that your walk is one of faith and not about what your physical senses perceive. It is about what God says regardless of whether your physical senses understands it or not.
The Christian walk is not one that you should subject to your feelings for validation. Where your feelings contradict the truth of God’s Word, you must resolve to submit to the Word of God as the final say. That you do not feel like a child of God does not mean that you are not. 1 John 3:2 says; “Beloved, now we are children of God….” That you do not feel blessed or feel forgiven does not mean that you are not blessed or forgiven. You are what you are just because the Word says so. You are who God says you are.
Quit looking to your feelings for validation of the realities that are yours in Christ Jesus. Let your validation all the time come from your confidence in what God has said and not in how you feel. Don’t be an emotional Christian - one ruled by their feelings. Hebrew 11:6 says; “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Therefore, keep responding to the Lord in faith and you will keep moving from glory to glory.
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank You because in Christ Jesus I have found my identity. I refuse to be led by my feelings but I walk confident of what Your Word says I am and I have. I am blessed, forgiven and highly favoured, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
