Luke 5: 5-6 - Master,” Simon replied, “we have worked hard all night without catching anything. But because You say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to tear.
Many put so much effort into the things they do and fail to focus on the results. It is possible to fast for 40 days and nights, but the essence of the fasting is the results and outcomes from the exercise. Your life must be result oriented; that is what makes you a testimony, not just that you have testimonies. God is a God of results. For your life to bring glory to God as ordained by him (Isa. 43:7), you must have results to show. Results distinguish and puts a man in a different class.
Imagine a football team spending 90 minutes on the pitch and scoring no goal. That is so much efforts of running around and expending energy without any goal to crown the effort. That is not God's plan for you. He is interested in turning every fruitless effort into result oriented efforts. In our anchor scriptures, we saw how Jesus turned Peter and his partner's failure to success. Peter said, "we have toiled (laboured, struggled, worked hard) all night and caught nothing" (Luke 5:5). They made so much effort all through the night but had nothing to show. If you’re at such a point, God is causing a turn around for you 'Now'.
For your efforts to bring forth results, you must see clearly and identify the goals, targets and results the effort is aimed at. Let the Holy Spirit lead you to pick the right effort i.e. strategy, steps, actions, tasks etc to achieve the results. God said, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way to go. I will guide you with mine eye" (Psalm 32:8). Always allow the Holy Spirit to lead you (Rom.8:14). That's what Jesus did to Peter. He said, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” It's time to launch and cast your nets in the right direction to get results. May your life be full of results and not mere efforts.
Prayers: I am destined for results. I will no longer engage in fruitless efforts. Lead me O God, instruct and teach me in the way to go and how to achieve the results that brings glory to you. In Jesus name.
