God Is Not A Liar - Be Like Him!

Thursday October 26th, 2023

Psalm 89:34-35 - My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David:

God is not a liar. He does not break covenant or go back on his word and promise. He is very reliable and faithful. What a testimony about the integrity and character of God. As God's children, we are meant to be like him, aren't we? Can it be said about you, by God and men alike, that you are faithful and reliable like Him? "And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world" 1 John 4:17. Note that Apostle John says, "as he is, so are we in this world". That is, "In this world we are like Jesus" (NIV).

Have you ever considered the lofty standard of the life God gave us and called us to live in Christ; for which he gave his only begotten Son? Many Christians focus too much on the promises, blessings, anointing and miracles in Christ and pay little or no attention to the character, lifestyle, integrity and the quality of life that represents God adequately here on earth as his children. We must be correct children who lives correct lives for our Father's glory and pleasure. When we live correct lives, the Father will be able to say about us like he did to Jesus, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased and delighted in, and who gives me great joy'. Matt. 4:17.

Just like your Father, your word must be your bond. Do not say 'Yes' today and 'No' tomorrow. People should trust your word and rest in the integrity and faithfulness of your life and character. But a faithful man who can find? Prov. 20:6. Consider when God said, "My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips". God is looking for covenant keepers who will swear to their own hurt and won't change (Psalm 15: 4). So, be a man of your word. If you make a promise, keep it; even if it takes great effort or it hurts you. God places a very high priority on those who keep their word, like Him.

Prayer: Father, as you are so you have made me here on earth and I'm grateful for this. I'm sorry for anyway I've not lived a correct life you gave me. I purpose to live a correct life all round and be a man/woman of my word henceforth by your grace.
