John 6:5-6 - “Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do. Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”
Our anchor scripture is an excerpt from the miracle of Jesus in feeding the 5,000. People had gathered and Jesus had decided that they needed to be fed. Did you notice the question he asked Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” The question was “Where” indicating a place. However, Philip’s answer was to speak of the cost; “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them….”
Herein lies the problem - the narrow focus of Philip that the situation only required money led to him not answering the question correctly. Philip was thinking “money” and “the lack of it.” His view was that this was a money problem, hence the answer he gave. Notice that there was no solution with his incorrect answer.
When you think all you need is money, you will be so limited. Our anchor scripture says that Jesus Himself knew what He would do when He asked Philip the question. Your situation is not a big deal to God. He knows how to fix the problems. You may be thinking; “Oh I need a lot of money to solve this issue and I don’t have it”, but God knows how to get what you need for the fulfilment of your purpose. Just trust Him that He knows what to do and how to do it and remove the limits.
For instance, God may promise you a car. You might think He will give you the money to buy a car but how about Him orchestrating the plan such that someone gifts you the car. Or He gives you wisdom to become a car manufacturer? You see, when your thinking is dominated by “the lack of money” as it pertains to your purpose and the glorious things God wants to do in you and through you, you will be limited. Throw off the limits, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:37.
Prayer: Dear Father, there is no impossibility with You. You are able to do for me, in ways beyond my imagination, all that You have purposed to make happen for me. I trust You and I receive all that You have for me in destiny to Your praise and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
