Luke 23:4 - "So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this Man.”
Our anchor scripture relays an episode from the crucifixion story of Jesus. When the multitude brought Jesus to Pontious Pilate and accused him in a bid to convince Pilate that Jesus was guilty and worthy of punishment, Pilate responded “I find no fault in this Man.”
Interestingly, a parallel can be drawn from this to make a representation of our reality in Christ. Pilate’s declaration here is akin to how God the Father sees the believer (represented as Jesus) when being accused by the devil (the chief priests and multitudes). Just like Pilate found Jesus faultless, God finds you faultless.
When He looks at you, He sees His sinless Son Jesus. This is because when you put your faith in the death and resurrection of Christ, you were credited with the righteousness of Christ - you were declared righteous. Romans 4:5 (NLT) says; “But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.” It is on the basis of what Christ did that God finds you faultless and defends you from the devil and his agents.
Therefore, it doesn't matter the multitude of people who come against you, to accuse and destroy you. Take great confidence in the fact that God is for you, and because He is for you, no man can stand against you (Romans 8:31). He is always on your side; He has promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Moreover, in Christ, we have an advocate (1 John 2:1) who is defending us from the accusations of the enemy.
Prayer: Father, I thank You because I have Jesus Christ as my advocate. I refuse to fear or tremble because of those who try to destroy me. I am an overcomer in Christ Jesus. I am more than a conqueror in Jesus name. Amen
