Word Feast: Daily Menu from KCIC
Monday April 29, 2024
Psalm 118: 24 - "This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Congratulations, you made it to another day. That is because you found grace and favour with God, and you still have purpose and reason to be alive. God has a need for you here. That's why we must welcome each day with joy and thanksgiving. Note that God made the day, and He made it for you and enabled you to see it, live in it, and enjoy it. So, rejoice and be glad!
Be glad for the gift of life. Be grateful for God's abiding and unfailing presence, which is your greatest gift as a Christian. "For He has said, “I WILL NEVER [under any circumstances] DESERT YOU [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], NOR WILL I FORSAKE or LET YOU DOWN or RELAX MY HOLD ON YOU [assuredly not]!” Heb.13:5 (Amp).
The beauty of the day is not that it is new, but that we are being made new. The glory of the day is not that it marks a change but that we are being changed. With each new day, a new, better, and more Godly 'you' should evolve. Don't enter tomorrow stale, old, and worn out. There's a glory embedded in today. Call it forth and partake of it. God said, "Behold, I am doing a new thing, shall you not know it? (Isa. 43:18-19).
Let the newness of today rub on you and prepare you for your tomorrow. To experience this, you must be like the sons of Isaachar who had an understanding of the times, or if you like, 'day' (1 Chron. 12:32). To unlock the glory of the day and make it respond to you, spend quality time daily with the Maker of the day (God) through the Word and prayers.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of life and of today. I am grateful that You daily load me with benefits. I choose to rejoice and live in Your presence and for Your pleasure today. I call forth the glory and newness of today upon my life in Jesus' name. Amen.
