Psalm 118: 24 - This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
David declared and said, "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!" (Psalm 68:19). He simply confirmed the goodness of God embedded and hidden inside each day. God delights in pouring His blessings upon us. That's why the Psalmist describes it as 'loading' i.e. the weight of God's abundant blessings. Read Psalm 103 for a clearer understanding of these load of benefits.
We must never take for granted the abundant blessings God pours out on us each day. Just consider for once; if God were to judge or relate with you based on your sins, will He allow you to see another day? Yet He never withholds His mercy, grace, forgiveness, goodness, answered prayers, healings, protection, joy, peace, abundant provisions, etc.
Of a truth, "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23). So, rejoice in the mercies, compassions, and faithfulness of God poured on you today and always; but don't ever take these for granted or abuse the largese by wrong and sinful living.
Sinful living displeases God and limits His influence in our lives (read Isa. 59:1-2). One of the ways to rejoice and be glad in today is to commit to holy and righteous living every day. It's to live a life that pleases and brings glory to God. Let holy living permeate your thoughts, desires, choices and actions as you aim to obey His instruction in Genesis 17:1; "Walk before me and be thou perfect."
Prayer: Thank you, Father, for daily loading me with your blessings. I do not take this for granted, Lord, but I choose to rejoice in today and always by living in holiness and working towards perfection daily by your grace in Jesus' name. Amen.
