Psalm 23:1 - “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

The state of the economy during bad times can cause a lot of anxieties and worries to one’s heart. News of increasing cost of living, rising prices, and stagnant wages can indeed cause fear but you should not allow such worries take over your heart. Jesus said; “…do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” Matthew 6:25.

As a child of God, you are not of this world so you are to see and think differently when it comes to provision. Don’t think or see fear because “The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness….” (Psalm 24:1). He knows how to ensure you are well taken care of. He is the God of abundance and He can never be limited.

The scriptures say; “They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough.” Psalm 37:19 (NLT). Let this truth from God’s Word be the anchor for your heart. God has your provision taken care of. All you need is to yield to His guidance as your shepherd and He will lead you to and make you lie in green pastures.

Prayer: Dear Father, I refuse to be afraid of bad economic times. You are my shepherd and I ask that you lead me in the way of continued prosperity and peace. My prosperity will not decrease, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
