Psalm 84:11 (TPT) - “For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping himself around me like a shield, he is so generous with his gifts of grace and glory. Those who walk along his paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for he provides it all.”
God is generous! He loves to give freely and it is His very nature to give, because He is love. Our anchor scripture amplifies this truth that God is “so generous with his gifts of grace and glory.” He sees to it that you are beautified and you never lack the things that you require. David testified in Psalm 37:25 (NIV) - “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread”. His generosity will not allow you to lack!
One reason there can be a struggle to trust in the generosity of God is that we doubt that He wants to meet all of our needs and as a result, we become anxious. However Jesus said; “Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” Matthew 6:30-32.
You are much more valuable than the grass of the field or the birds of the air which God graciously provides for. So, trust God’s heart toward you. “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing” Psalm 34:10. For any area of lack or desire, let your heart be inspired with how He cares for you. Focus on His generosity and His willingness to supply your need, and as your perspective changes, you become free of worries and you open the door for His supply to flow in.
Prayer: Father I trust that you are able and willing to meet all of my needs according to your riches in glory. I refuse to worry because I know that you are a good and generous Father and I receive your supply much more than I could ever imagine, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
