Joel 2:23-25 - “Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you. The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten….”
One may lose precious and valuable things. It may be the loss of a job, relationship, money, business opportunity, etc. Such experiences may lead to grief and also affect one’s emotions. Some beat themselves up and are full of regrets especially when such a loss is due to their negligence. Others by reason of the loss die untimely as they refuse to seek strength from the Word of God and allow the comfort of the Holy Spirit to become accessible to them. This is not the will of God for us as His children.
God, in our anchor scripture, promises to bring back what you may have lost by His power and bring you into a season of celebration and rejoicing. He says; “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” Jeremiah 32:27. This brings hope. Whether you were careless or the devil played on you, things can still be restored. God is able to restore the unproductive and wasted years. Your health can be restored (Jeremiah 30:17). Your marriage, business, finances and relationships can be restored if you hold unto God and refuse the lie of the devil. Job refused to curse God but held unto Him. He said; “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Job 13:15.
David asked God in his season of loss and God told him to pursue, overtake and without fail recover all (1 Samuel 30:8). The lost families of David and his men were restored to him because he refused to sit down in the pit of depression, weeping and lamenting. God can also restore that which you have lost but should be in your life. Set your face to seek Him. Inquire from Him in prayer and in His Word what you should do and the steps you should take. Be encouraged, God is able to turn your pain to gain if you seek him despite your pain.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You because You are the God of restoration. I pray and ask for the restoration of all that I have lost. Bring me into the season of celebration as promised in Your Word. Show me the steps You want me to take to enjoy Your restoration, in Jesus Name. Amen.
