Look To Him Alone

Wednesday October 4, 2023

Psalm 34:5 - “They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.”

To look to Him also means to Trust Him. As a child of God, you must resolve that your trust, your dependence and your confidence will be in nothing else but Him. It will not be in your own physical abilities, your natural heritage, the material things you have, your financial status or any other advantages. It will be in Him alone. Yes, God gives us these advantages for our benefit but you must not start trusting the gifts instead of the Giver.

Paul told Timothy to “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.” 1 Timothy 6:17 (NLT). When one is deceived to trust in their own abilities, they start to become proud and arrogant. Sometimes this manifests in how they treat the place of prayer as they become busy with the gifts and neglect to fellowship with the Giver.

For victory, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” Psalm 20:7. Look to the Lord for help and you will not be ashamed. To trust Him with your career, business, family, finances, and so on is to do it the way He leads you to. As you follow His guidance, He will lead you onto glory and success. Keep looking to Him in confident trust and expectation and you will not be put to shame, guaranteed!

Prayer: Dear Father, I put my trust in You. From You proceed all good things and I look to You alone for my help. I receive grace to keep trusting You by following Your guidance and leading, in Jesus Name. Amen
