Daniel 2: 48 - 49 - “Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon. Also Daniel petitioned the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed Nego over the affairs of the province of Babylon; but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.”
Typically, God uses people to bless people. It is a mistake to think that you don’t need men because a prophecy has been spoken over your life. God uses men to actualise and execute his plans, purposes or promises. When God wants to bless you, he will connect you to people who will partner with him concerning the fulfilment of His plans for your life. It is therefore wise on your part to keep praying that God should help you recognise those helpers of destiny and to maintain a good relationship with them.
In our anchor scripture, Daniel was lifted as a result of his close relationship with God and his integrity. When promoted, he remembered his friends he started together with and recommended them also for promotion. If God doesn’t lift your helper, you can’t access help. If God doesn’t settle your helper, they can’t settle you; because you can't give what you don't have. When Daniel was blessed with money, influence, position and prominence; he extended help to his companions. Imagine what Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego would have lost if they had severed relationship with Daniel.
Sometimes, helpers of destiny don’t look like it. In fact, you can also meet them in unlikely places. This is why you have to walk in love, be discerning, and maintain a good attitude. Hebrews 13:2 says; “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” When God was going to settle Joseph, he brought him in contact with the chief butler in prison. Indeed, the gift of a man makes room for him (Prov. 18:16).
Joseph was not overwhelmed with his problems to ignore the countenance of the butler who, unknown to him, would be instrumental to his lifting (read Genesis 40:5-15). He showed genuine love. Joseph’s helper - the butler, was at some point in prison when Joseph helped him. Don’t despise people because of where they are today. Keep being a blessing to everyone!
Prayer: Dear Father, I receive grace to walk in love towards all people. Give me discernment to know recognise my helpers and manage my relationships well to your glory, in Jesus Name. Amen.
