Word Feast: Daily Menu from KCIC Wednesday May 24, 2023 1 Peter 3:9 - “not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” In Christ, you are blessed. This is why you should not worry or be afraid even if someone tries to come against you or they speak evil against you. Know for sure that the blessing upon your life excels over and above any curse or contrary word or opinion. You are blessed forever in Christ. Our anchor scripture confirms that “you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” As a child of God, being blessed is not a future reality. It is a NOW reality for you. You are blessed already. Ephesians 1:3 (NLT) also testifies to this; “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” So, let your consciousness awaken to this current reality that for you, it is nothing but blessings! Think blessings. Speak blessings, both to yourself and others, and carry yourself as someone blessed because you are indeed. Knowing you are blessed should inform how you respond to people who try to act against you. This is the context of our anchor scripture. No need to try to pay others back with evil. Read this verse again; “not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” You must see that their insults or their evil actions has no effect on the blessing and the effect of the blessing upon your life. God has blessed you and no one can reverse it (Numbers 23:20). So, rest and don’t respond to evil with evil because you are blessed! Hallelujah! Prayer: I am blessed. I walk in the blessing and my life is full of God’s grace, peace, wisdom and favour. I refuse to respond with evil to anyone but I overcome evil with good because God’s blessing rests upon my life.
