Rejoice Now and Always!

Saturday August 13, 2023

Psalm 118:24 - “This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

The account of creation in Genesis shows that each and every day is God’s creation. All through the entire Chapter 1 of Genesis, after the work of creation for each day, you see the following; “…So the evening and the morning were the first day” and “So the evening and the morning were the second day” up until the 6th day and then God “rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.” Genesis 2:2.

Knowing therefore that each day is made of God, the Psalmist declared what our attitude should be regarding each day; “We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Joy is of the Lord and is one of the fruit of the Spirit in a believer. To have joy is to be cheerful, glad, or delighted. Your main source of joy as a Christian is the hope of glory that you have because Christ lives in you. Colossians 1:27 (NLT) says; “For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.” Since you have Christ, therefore, you can always rejoice on a daily basis regardless of circumstances.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT) says; “The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Let this be your mindset and confession as you face today. Have a joyful expectation that God’s favour and peace is your lot today. The Psalmist says; “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life;” Psalm 23:6. Let this be your expectation, too.

The devil never made a day; it’s all God’s work so, don’t allow draining negative thoughts to dominate your mind as you arise from bed. Don’t let a sad attitude dominate your mind as you go about your day. The scriptures say; “But for him who is joined to all the living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” Ecclesiastes 9:4. There is hope for you. So enjoy the benefits the Lord has for you today with great joy. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Dear Father, I thank You for Your mercies are upon me today. I rejoice in Your faithful love, and I choose to live in the confident expectation of good today. I rejoice because goodness and mercies attend to me today and always, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
