2 Chronicles 26:5 (NLT) - “Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. And as long as the king sought guidance from the LORD, God gave him success.”
Success comes from God and He wants you to be successful in all things. 3 John 2 (Amp) says, "Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]."
Our anchor scripture shows one pathway to success as seeking God, receiving His guidance and following it. How simple and straightforward this is. This formula also bears resemblance to what Mary said at the wedding in Cana when she expected Jesus to help with a miracle as the wine ran out. Mary said to the servants; “Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:5). This is how you become a success with God.
Our anchor scripture noted well; “as long as the king sought guidance from the LORD, God gave him success.” Many chase success their own way but you cannot be fulfilled without His guidance or direction. The One who made you is the one who can measure whether you have succeeded or not. Success, according to God, is about accomplishing His own goals for your life and not just doing your own thing.
So quit trying to achieve success your own way. Follow Jesus and let Him make you (Matt 4:19). “Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart.” (Job 22:22). Learn to receive His guidance through a devotion to scriptures and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit to do all that God bids you. As you do, you will be guided unto success and true fulfilment.
Prayer: Dear Father, I submit to Your Lordship over my life. Help me with wisdom and grace to follow you wholeheartedly, embracing your guidance and doing your pleasure at all times, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
