Exodus 14: 24-25 - Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians. And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, "Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians."
God will always fight for you. He's the warrior King. He has never lost, and will never lose any battle. The story of how God fought for Israel against Pharaoh and his hosts drives home key lessons for us as children of God. Your battle is not yours, but God’s. "This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s" (2 Chron. 20:15).
Whenever a child of God is faced with the battles and challenges of life, it's always an opportunity to experience the peculiar fatherhood of God. God is jealous over you because you are the apple of His eyes. Zech.2:8b (NLT) says, "For he said, “Anyone who harms you harms my most precious possession". Did you hear that? You are God’s 'most precious possession'. Halleluyah!
How do you think God will respond if someone messed around with His 'most precious possession'? Pharaoh tried it; he and his hosts perished in the Red Sea. King Herod was eaten up by worms. God dealt with the Kings of Egypt and Gerar for taking Sarah. Beloved, nobody touches the apple of God's eye except they want to see the anger of God displayed against them.
However, God is in pain when His children are riddled with worry, anxiety, and fear, especially when they're in trouble. It breaks His heart when you quickly forget that He is ready to go to any extent to protect you and fight for you. God will do anything and go to any extent for you. If He gave his only Son for you, .."how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Rom 8:32)
Prayer: Thank you Father for your jealousy over me and fighting my battles for me. I am sorry for doubting you and allowing fear, worry and anxiety in my heart. I am more than conqueror; so I arise and rejoice in the victory you have given me already through my Lord Jesus Christ.
