Hebrews 12: 2 - Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
It is said that, 'when you stay focused, you become a focus'. To be focused means to give your full attention to what you are doing or to what is happening. It means to stay on track and fix your eyes on the goal you aim to achieve. The anchor scripture above showed us the example of Jesus who attained higher height and is seated at God's right hand far above principalities and powers, having been given a name which is above every other name (Phil. 2: 9-10). To attain this, he endured the cross and despised the shame. You must be ready to pay the price to win the prize.
To stay focused, you must see the end goal first from the start. So, what do you see? To see clearly and keep focused, you must remove every distraction, and in line with Hebrews 12:2, "lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us", and run the race set before you. No athlete runs and win in any game if they take their eyes away from the end point. Jesus declared about the divine plan for his life, "Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’ Heb. 10:7. Do you know what is written about you?
Knowing God's will and what is written about you and doing it, does not only take you higher; it also keeps you there. When you're in God's will always, you commit God to sustain, defend, uphold and back you up. This is the greatest secret to staying on top. As long as you commit to do God's will and pleasure, he will lift you to higher heights and keep you there. Stay focused on his will for you in all things and aim to run well and end well like Apostle Paul in 2 Tim. 4: 7-8.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for what is written concerning me in destiny. Please open my eyes to see and make known your will to me. I receive grace to stay focused on fulfilling your will always and pleasing you.
