Genesis 1: 26 - Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
The blessedness of unity, oneness and team work was exemplified by God in the anchor scripture above. As All-Mighty as God is, with the ability and power to do all things; he chose to acknowledge his need for the other members of the Trinity. In fact, the involvement of the triune God in creation was shown from the start when, "..the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light" Genesis 1:2-3. God did not try to run the show alone, perform the task or take the glory of achievement alone.
We all live in symbiotic relationships like marriage, family, friendship, church, work groups and teams etc. A symbiotic relationship involves interaction between two different organisms living in close physical association.
It denotes a mutually beneficial relationship between different people or groups. The most common and relevant to all is the family. How functional or dysfunctional this is could have lasting impact on the lives of its members. God showed us a very good example and important keys for success in marriage and family; to recognise, acknowledge and respect the other party(ies) in the union.
Notice that while God the Father took the lead and played the coordinating role in the work of creation; he got the Spirit and the Word (Son) involved from the start (read Gen. 1:1-3). He was not selfish nor try to run solo. This is what has destoyed many marriages and homes. There was division of labour, clear lines of responsibility and each of them knew when to come in and what to do. The vision was clear and there was sound agreement between them in line with the Scriptures, "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" Amos 3:3. No wonder the Trinity remained 'Together' in an everlasting unbroken relationship till tomorrow. You can also enjoy the blessedness of 'Together' if you choose to.
Prayer: Thank you Father for showing me the best example of how my marriage and family can work. I choose to learn from you and follow your example so my marriage and family can remain together and achieve your plan and purposes for us to your glory in Jesus name.
Reminder: Join us to enjoy the blessings of 'Together' at the Marriage and Family Network Conference starting this evening at 6.00pm on Zoom & Facebook. Please see the flyer for details.
