Matthew 21:13 (GNT) - "He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”"
"Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (I Cor. 3:16). It is sad to note that many Christians are not aware that they are the Temple of God, and that their body is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, they do not act in a manner that befits a temple nor do they embody the purposes that a temple is meant to serve.
Among many things, God's Temple is meant to act as a place of safety, comfort, hope, etc. Hence, as Christians, we are meant to embody all these. Moreover, in the reference scripture, Jesus reminded his audience about one of the purposes God’s temple is meant to serve. Jesus said, "My Temple will be called a house of prayer." In essence, we are supposed to embody prayer.
One way we make ourself a prayer house is to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess 5:17). When we consistently fellowship with God in this manner, we become an expression of His presence, and His glory and power will be clearly evident in our lives. Your effectual fervent prayer which avails much (James 5: 16) do not only ensure that your altar never lacks fire; it also turns you to a shining and burning light like John (John 5:35).
Prayer: Father, please make me a house of prayer, a flaming fire and carrier of your presence and a blessing to the world. Give me grace to be consistent, holy, effectual and fervent in the place of prayer in Jesus name. Amen.
