Topic: God is Gracious! (2)

Word Feast: Daily Menu from KCIC

Deuteronomy 9:6 - “Therefore understand that the LORD your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people."

Apostle Paul emphasised that, "For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God (Eph. 2:8 Amp).

Beloved, you are a product of God's grace because it is by grace that you are saved. Jesus is the embodiment of grace, and of His fulness we have all received grace (John 1:16-17). 2 Cor 8:9 says, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich." We must make it a daily practice of going before Jesus to receive more and more grace.

We must consistently and consciously live in the knowledge of God’s grace. We must be mindful that Jesus paid the price, He fulfilled and abolished the law (Eph 2:15). So there's no 'handwriting of requirements' (Col 2:14) reminding Him that you haven't met the conditions for His blessings. However, just as we have been saved by grace through faith, so we should live daily above sin by the same grace through faith.

Apostle John says, 'my little children...that you sin not' (read 1 John 1:1-2); and 'IF' any man sin, "let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). Receiving the abundance of grace in addition to God's righteousness which we have already received, empowers us to reign in life (Rom 5:17).

Prayer: Father, I thank You for being exceedingly gracious to me. Help me to be conscious of your abundant grace as I continue to receive more and more grace every day in Jesus' Name. Amen
