Topic: Protect Your Heart Against Unbelief (1)

Saturday April 27, 2024

‭Hebrews 3:12 - "Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God."

Matters of the heart requires extreme care and caution. Proverbs 4:23 says "Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life." Whatever affects your heart affects your life. Whatever creeps into your heart, comes out in your life.

In the reference scripture, the Bible asks us to be careful not to have an unbelieving heart. This presents a warning that without care and attention to the state of our heart, unbelief can creep in. Unbelief hinders the expression of faith, and without faith, it is impossible to please God. God regards an unbelieving heart as an evil heart, and God detests evil.

As we see in the reference scripture, one pitfall of having an unbelieving heart is that such a heart inevitably turns away from God. Also, unbelief in the heart may get expressed by the mouth (Luke 6:45), and this can be quite detrimental (Read Prov 18:21). God doesn't want us to turn away from Him neither does He want us to speak unbelief. This is why He wants us to guard our hearts with all diligence against unbelief.

Prayer: Father, I put my faith in you. I receive grace to shield my heart from unbelief in Jesus' name. Amen
