Matthew 7:12 - “So then, in everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you, for this is [the essence of] the Law and the [writings of the] Prophets.”
People are valuable. Every man was made by God and no human being is more valuable than another. Yes, among people, it is true that there might be differences due to education, social background, economic ability, intellectual capacity, and so on but intrinsically, every human being’s value is the same in God’s eyes. This is one reason why you should treat people well.
John 3:16 says; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God gave Jesus not for the world of goats or chickens but for the world of men. This is how much he values you. The price you pay for a thing is the value that has been placed on that thing. This is the reason why your gold jewellery is of more value than your tablespoon because of the price. And the price God paid for the salvation of every man is the blood of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:20).
So, see people from the perspective of God. This would be what will enable you to treat them well. As a business person, see your customers and workers through the eyes of God as people of value and serve them well. As an employee, see your employer as a being with value in the eyes of God. As a wife or husband, see your spouse as someone who is valuable to God. When you renew your mind to see people this way, you will be full of compassion and love toward others. You too are valuable; see yourself and others as valuable in the eyes of God.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for loving me and for the privilege to love and to treat others well. My heart is open to care and to treat others with honour, dignity and compassion as led by the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
